New to cosmetic tattoos?
Here’s some answers to some frequently asked questions
All about cosmetic tattoos
-
Permanent Makeup, or PMU, is a cosmetic tattooing technique that enhances natural features like brows or lips. The typical longevity of your permanent makeup should be 1-3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and the technique used. It is permanent so while it does fade overtime, it does not completely leave the skin.
Touch ups are highly recommended every 15-28 months but this varies per person and only if the eyebrows have faded atleast 40-50%
Coming back for touch ups can allow your shape to keep its polished and define shape without the need of a additional makeup.

Some people describe the sensation as minimal discomfort, like light scratching, and some don’t feel it at all!
It really varies from person to person.
A topical numbing cream will be used during all the procedures to make you as comfortable as possible.
However some discomfort is expected.

Not if you let them know! Having done in-depth training, we are able to create hyper-realistic, ultra natural tattoos that mimic naturally occurring facial features. Different techniques also lend to a bolder “made up” look or you can choose subtle enhancements that give the “your face but better” effect.

There is a slight down time for both brows and lip blush
BROWS:
Your brow tattoo will appear quite dark and bold initially in the first 6 days.
There will be some light scabbing during the second week where the colour will be more faint / softer about 40%.Full healing and color setting take 4-6 weeks, after which we can assess and schedule a touch-up if needed!
LIPS:
Your lips can swell in the first day and will also appear bolder/vibrant
Dryness and peeling will occur around 2-4.
By day 5 you will be done scabbing and the colour will be more subtle/muted.
Lips will continue to bloom in the next 5-8 weeks, after which we can assess and schedule a touch-up if needed!

Aftercare is key to great results!
You’ll need to avoid kissing, licking, sweating, sun exposure, and submerging the treated area in water for extended period for about a week or more (don’t worry, you can still take showers!).

Yes, the color is customizable, but if there is existing pigmentation on your lips (any brown, purple, grey tones), the color cannot be chosen until the lips have been neutralized 1 -2 sessions.
Once neutralization is complete, we’ll select a shade that enhances your natural lip color and complements your skin tone.
Clients can also bring in their favourite lip shade for easier colour match
-
Yes you can.
Please wait at least 4 weeks before & after botox / fillers to get any brows or lip procedure.
Lip fillers does not interfere with lipblush but you should wait until they are settled to get any lip blush.
All about Laser Tattoo Removal
-
Laser tattoo removal uses high-intensity light beams to shatter and break down tattoo pigment into tiny particles. These particles are then absorbed and eliminated by your body’s immune system over time, causing the tattoo to lighten gradually.
The process continues between sessions as your body absorbs more pigment, meaning the longer you wait, the better the results.
A minimum of 8 weeks is required between sessions to allow the skin to heal completely and the ink particles to be flushed out.

I use Picosecond laser.
Picosecond lasers are considered the most advanced technology for tattoo removal, offering unmatched speed, precision, and results. Here’s what makes them stand out:
Ultra-Short Pulses: Picosecond lasers deliver energy in trillionths of a second, breaking tattoo ink into tiny particles that your body can eliminate more easily. This leads to faster fading compared to traditional lasers.
Fewer Sessions Needed: Thanks to its advanced technology, a picosecond laser often requires fewer sessions to achieve optimal results, saving you both time and money.
Minimal Risk of Scarring: The ultra-short pulses generate less heat, reducing the chance of burns, scarring, or damage to surrounding skin.
Safe for All Skin Types: Picosecond lasers are effective across a wide range of skin tones, making them a versatile option for everyone including darker skins like Fitzpatrick 5.
Precision for Delicate Areas: Their high precision makes picosecond lasers perfect for sensitive areas like the eyebrows or lips, ensuring no hair/skin is damaged.
By choosing a picosecond laser, you’re selecting the safest, fastest, and most effective method for tattoo removal, giving you superior results with minimal downtime.
-
Picosecond laser is suitable and safe for all skin types including Fitzpatrick 5-6.

Pain is subjective. Most patients experience minimal discomfort when being treated but it also depends on the area being treated. Some clients are okay with zero numbing, but topical numbing and ice is provided so you stay comfortable.
Tattoo removal with PICOLASER technology may be considered slightly painful depending on ones’ pain tolerance, and has been equivalent to rubbing bands snapping on skin.
-
Yep, it sure can. Nicotine narrows the small blood vessels that normally bring oxygen and nutrients to the treated areas to help them heal. So there are less blood cells there to flush away the ink particles – slowing down the body's ability to aid the tattoo removal process.
Your overall health affects the tattoo removal results. A strong immune system can give you a stronger chance of removing your tattoo successfully. Boosting your body’s overall health can make a real difference to the speed and the end result.
Drink lots of water before & after removal
Exercise & stay active
Eat clean
-
After your very last removal session, it is best to wait atleast 8-10 weeks to redo your eyebrows.
-
Its very hard to determine how many sessions you need in advanced just by looking at the brow tattoo | body tattoo.
These factors play a part in tattoo removal
age of tattoo
depth of tattoo
ink quality
location of tattoo (body)
health/immune system
your skin colour (darker skin types will take longer)
Eyebrows: 2–5 sessions are typically needed for permanent cosmetic brow tattoos, depending on pigment type and how deep the ink was applied.
Body Tattoos: 4–10 sessions are often required for traditional body tattoos, with larger or darker tattoos potentially needing more treatments.
-
Yes it is safe for eyebrows.
Pico second laser will not damage hair follicles permanently. The pulse duration is too short for the laser to kill hair follicle.
The Picolaser has produces picosecond pulses of light energy. This pulse may temporarily remove hair or hair also may turn white, but the follicle will not be destroyed and will eventually grown another hair unless there is some other disease process going on that causes hair loss such as alopecia areata, thinning of the hair with age, a thyroid condition, genetics, hormones and other causes.
-
Patience is key when it comes to effective laser tattoo removal.
Many clinics will tell you to come back every 6-8 weeks so they charge you more sessions, but we suggest every 8-12 weeks.
Your tattoo removal progress is determined by your metabolism. Laser can only break up the ink into smaller particle but it is essentially up to your body’s lymphatic systems ability to carry it away.
By your 4th treatment, we recommend waiting 4-6 months between treatment.
-
You may experience redness, swelling, or slight tenderness in the treated area, similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically subside within a few days.
It is best to ice the area and keep out of heat.
Downtime is very minimal - to none. Avoid sun sxposure and heat.
-
When performed correctly by an experienced technician, the risk of scarring / hypo/ hyperpigmentation is minimal.
Patience and following proper aftercare instructions is crucial and key to reduce any complications.
